“Duo” began with paint remnants on the palette. Not to waste good paint, the underpainting was really quite dark. Scumbling lighter colors over the dark created a more pleasing contrast to the next convergence idea, merging line and deconstructed-reconstructed floral parts. In the foreground areas, the paint is thickly applied. The paintings may be hung together or may be as two separate paintings. This view is the two paintings together. I had spent time in my garden dead-heading daylilies, which influenced this day's work. Many blessings, Brenda |
