“Symphony” pushes the envelope of what is real and what is imitation.
Real petals from orchids I grow are layered into the work, and paint replicates petals as well. There are four layers of paint, like movements of a symphony. Previous layers in the development of the image peak through, suggesting the spirit world that surrounds all things.
